We have gathered again to present you a full body of work by Austin Bascom who goes under the moniker Abacus. The gentleman has created a lot of unique works for the people to enjoy starting from the 90’s and till this day. Recently the artist had a string of fantastic releases in our current years of 2020+ as well. This time he was kind enough to dedicate his time and effort to the dome of Sakskøbing. We witness the four deep cuts of house music in the way how deep house needs to be done in our honest opinion. Start of from “Chi-Town Stories” and the stories it brings to the ears and the mindset, straight after witnessing “Chillin’ Woman” with amazing vocals by Mz. Mosea which has been recorded in 1994, then bringing in the “Mourning Sun” and to conclude wrapping yourself under a warm blanket of “Hyggë”. I hope this work of soul and passion will bring you nice feelings as it did to us. Don’t forget to tell your loved ones that you love them. Thank you, Abacus for the emotion you have given to all of us listeners and music lovers.
Loud Enough returns with the third and final installment of the 3-EP series dedicated to Roman Pigna Records, the dancefloor-oriented sister label of Nature Records. Following the releases by Marco Passarani and Mario Pierro, it's now Francesco De Bellis's turn, akaFrancisco / Mr. Cisco. In line with the previous EPs, LE004 showcases four tracks: two timeless cuts, "Fregna The Age" and "Miss Cha Cha Cha," alongside two previously unreleased tracks from the same era, "Move" and "House." Each piece embodies Francisco's groovy, Chicago-inspired signature style, ensuring a captivating journey on the dance floor. Music produced and written by Francesco De Bellis. Originally recorded in Studio 22 (Pigna Studios) Rome, Italy 2024 – 2008. Remixed in Mondo Studio Rome 2023
Lerosa (Uzuri, Idle Hands, Lunar Disko) adds to his esteemed discography with an EP composed entirely during the summer of 2020. Several of his musical influences – I.M.S., Lee 'Scratch' Perry, James Stinson – can be heard across these four diverse tracks, as he jumps nimbly from italo to dub to house to electro. As always with Lerosa, though, the sound that emerges is distinctively his own, the result of daily cat-assisted studio time at his home in Dublin.
Belgian producer Gratts, an active dj for more than 20 years, teams up with pioneering Chicago vocalist Robert Owens on this new house anthem for our times. Hope is built into the very fibre of ‘Brighter Future’, from its optimistic synths to the sprightly Roland drum patterns, with Owens’ lilting affirmations soaring above. On the flip, Jorge Caiado’s remix and the New Vision Dub bring the track to the late night dancefloor, recalling the 90s heyday of Murk, Cajmere and Mood II Swing.
These tracks are among my absolute favourites in the realm of house music. Their haunting grooves seamlessly blend into house, techno or even garage sets. Despite being recorded about 30 years ago the sonic quality remains unmatched for its time, embodying the essence of timeless music. However, I’ve never been entirely satisfied with the sound of the original pressings. The vinyl limited total time length compromised the audio quality. Thus, I’ve long desired to remaster it in my studio and properly cut them, which led to our decision to undertake this endeavour.I am immensely proud of this release and thrilled to include it in our exquisite collection on Pariter. Ring Ring Ring! The dawn of a fresh day brings a new release near. Squid Recordings inks its way into existence with a heavy foot on rave Americana. With releases on Rush Hour, Velocity and his own Nylon Recordings, James ‘Nylon’ Thomas sees his Nylosphere project reborn, remastered and retouched (over two decades later) for the modern world. The two widely varying title tracks, backed with equally contrasting mixes, are a microcosm of what late 90s, American-made dance music embodied. That is, a web of genre hopping maximalism, analog driven punchiness and a beautiful uncertainty to a post millennia world.
