Deep house pioneer and Balance label head Chez Damier has recently got back into the scene having had his creativity reinvigorated. He has started a new label House of Chez as a way of sharing it with the world and now comes a bumper collection of all the early releases. He has made his with Ben Vedren as H2H and it's fair to say they are some of the standouts here. Elsewhere, Mosis impresses with the delightfully deep 'Pick It Up' and Damian Rausch remixes Sista Sista's 'Baby Don't' into a super low slung and dusty late night beatdown. The legendary Giorgio Morderer even appears with the diffuse synth magic of late night cruiser 'Engery.'

Goodtunes first release GT001, comes from Natebytheway, a San Francisco born, now Berlin based Producer and DJ. This EP delivers 4 cuts of different flavors, as the title suggests- ‘Forms of Flavour’The first cut —PVPNT— gifts us a 90s-style tech-house bomb with Nate’s signature beeps, bloops and flowy textures. A useful tool for a variety of atmospheres.Takemeonatrip utilizes the deeper and warmer side of house music to bring you some luscious pads, warm basslines and french vocals from the mysterious Zoe.Mr. Poems and Choochoochugging compliment the record with two deep yet distinct flavours of deep house, both accompanied with pumping basslines, tripped out vocals and percussive pleasures that are sure to get you moving.
Roberta’s latest missive showcases her ability to craft a more immersive and jazz-forward EP while staying true to her reliable leaning towards a more heady sound. Each track is an exercise in balancing the interplay between those two spaces. Your Power reveals a new complexity to her sound while evoking the sentimentality of her earlier productions. The EP closes out with a slow jam house groove that elevates as much as it captivates with its emotional melody and winding synths creating the perfect outro to her latest work, which implies her evolution as an artist is still slowly revealing itself.
Completing Dsum's latest album, 'Double Distance' emerges as the final quintet of tracks, igniting a celestial voyage for listeners. Opening with the pulsating energy of 'Protons,' the EP traverses the electro/techno spectrum, paying homage to electronic music's nascent era. From introspective ambient tones to pristine explorations of electro soundscapes, each track encapsulates a sonic odyssey of depth and innovation. Scheduled for release on vinyl and digital platforms in July, 'Double Distance' forms an integral component of the forthcoming album 'Water In The Moon.
Long overdue reissue of this timeless Jovonn classic on the re-launched Next Moov Records. Featuring 'Back In The Dark' with DJ Deep, 'Moov Sphere'. 'Jessies Speech' & 'Keep On Dancin'. All killer no filler! Tip!
It's ten up for Ira James's so-far-so-superb Vessel Recordings Group label as the duo of Nonfiction and Kid Enigma step up for a fresh new single. 'Make It Look Good' is an instant house classic with all the key elements nailed: the drums are deep but driving, while the percussion adds texture and bite. And who better to add some further layers of house authenticity than the one and only Chicago don DJ Sneak. First up he goes raw and loop as you would expect, then dubs things out with his second offering. Another doozy from this imprint.
Big one to start off the day! Legowelt returns to Axumisia Records with "More Dutch Outsider Polder Techno From The Archives." A deep dive into the vaults 1994-2005 shows that the Legowelt signature has been there all along. Result? A great great 2LP that will start hitting shops in May.
