Under-the-radar and majorly overlooked Glaswegian label Beluga Records, founded and run by Lorne Walton & James Gray, operated mainly in the mid 90's and released a sleuth of music ahead of its time. Together they recorded and performed as Western Alliance and released two recently acclaimed EP's and it's there where we turn our attention to with their 'Atalanta EP' from 1996. Featuring four no-nonsense, stripped back, groovy, dancefloor rammers it's music that seems now more relevant than ever. Serious gear.

DJ Khetama aka Stefan Reimer released a steady stream of records on labels Hyper Hype and Time Unlimited during the mid 90's with much acclaim. For this Rezpektiva we have compiled tracks from those releases and put them onto one vinyl. Rezpekt to DJ Khetama !
In the mid 90's Audio Science released two CD only albums that have gone on to be well received and lately revered. This LP has been compiled featuring the standout tracks originally released from those recordings on Aural X-Perience and Hypnotic.
Although known mainly for their work in Natural Born Grooves, Jaco Van Rijswijk and Bert Boon recorded one time as N.O.T. and released originally on Antwerp's Cold Records label back in 1997. This EP comprises three different versions of the main track entitled 'The Sound', one for every occasion. Bouncy, groovy and definitely one to make you move, this is 'The Sound.'
If ever a producer could be hailed as the true heir to New York's storied house music throne, it's undoubtedly Mike Terra—and his new, seriously weighty Rhythm of Love EP on Nat Wendell's Depths imprint is a testament to that in strides. The EP begins with the peak-time infectiousness of A1 "7th & C," setting the commanding tone for what's to come. The fittingly Big Apple-titled A2 "27th Street (Dub Mix)" follows, a rollicking shuffler whose fat kicks, stabbing synths, and snapping cymbals recall Johnick's steamier cuts. New York in the 90’s is indeed the frame of reference for this EP, and the B-side finds Terra doing what he does best: creating bumping, stomping, and uplifting must-have workouts for the floor. Whether you prefer the swarthy slapping, Todd Terry-esque groove of title track B1 "Rhythm of Love" or the conga-driven, deep-padded chunk of late-night house that isB2 "City Got You Trippin'," a late-night jam crafted for those still standing, both tracks are bound to find their places in the record bags of DJs—and heads—worldwide.
"The second drop on Cheap Fast Worldwide finds Lou Raw and Lazerfocus getting into all kinds of trouble on the A-side whether solo or in collaboration with each other. Raw brings a sultry late night mood to chunky, uptempo house on 'Get On (Down With Me Tonight)' while Lazerfocus takes things blown out and deep-diving on the sublime 'Tubaloop' before they join forces to share their favourite samples from the two tracks. On the flip, the aptly titled B offers some cheeky, crafty wiggle business with DJ Marion on 'Natural Laws' before exploring a more fractured kind of electro experimentation which marks this label out as a hotbed of fresh ideas in a busy scene."
