This EP weaves a rich tapestry of sound across four unique tracks, each with its own distinctive identity. The front side opens with a groovy -house journey, where Joy and Hamsa’s collaboration pulses with deep, infectious rhythms. The second track strikes with punchy, progressive beats, propelling listeners into a dynamic soundscape. On the flip side, a hypnotic creation by Francesco Farfa and Hamsa casts a spell with looping melodies, drawing you into a deep, entrancing atmosphere. The EP closes with a reimagined classic - Hi-Ryze revisits his 1991 work with Viv Breton under the alias Ubik, breathing new life into it.
Welt Discos' latest delivery is the debut solo record from DJ/producer/radio host Stephen Howe. The Mimesis EP gives us a convincing introduction to his highly musical sound: spontaneous yet tightly arranged, referential yet idiosyncratic, and not afraid to take the odd left turn. From 80s electro dynamism to loopy techno deepness to broken introspection, this is a diverse and surprising set of dancefloor grooves brought together by Stephen's knack for harmony, counterpoint and tone.
