Almost exactly a year since since ‘Felt Cute’ debuted on Kalahari and Blu:sh is back in the building. But this time around, it’s with a record evoking the muggy closeness of a dancefloor suspended somewhere between peak-time elation and wide-eyed vision quest.

Tweaking the blueprint to rapturous ends, the latest offering from this Blu:sh project propels itself forward with a muscle-bound groove. Six robust, deadly club trax replicate the breathy seduction of its predecessor, but this time, with added velocity.

Pinky Promise is full frontal and deadly while channelled through the same explorative prism characterising Benoit’s best work. Probably the toughest material the prolific shapeshifter has put out to date.

Nods to Eurocentric styles shine through with particular emphasis on the sexy and trance-inducing. It goes straight out the traps with a big dose of fractal fuel and stays murkily psychedelic to the very end.

Picture a world without Garys. Picture a world without a Garage. Not a pleasant thought? That’s where Gary’s Garage comes in.He’s got the Gary. He’s got the Garage (but not the UK Garage, though).Since 1950, there’s been a sharp decline in babies being named Gary. Garys are becoming a rare breed. That’s why Gary’s Garage was born – to release a garage record so pure and joyous, it’ll inspire parents everywhere to name their newborn “Gary,” bringing the name back to its rightful place.Inspired by a faxed in reaction sheet to Azuli Records in 1999, Gary has graced us with 4 fresh tracks of Gazza Garage to form the Not Enough Garys EP. First up, I’ve Taken (Too Many Garys) — a chunky, bass-driven anthem that hits like a Greggs sausage roll on a summer’s day. Evoking memories of the 0171-dialling code, it’s pure stodge.Next, Gary’s Ballad finds Gary in a reflective mood, lamenting the loss of the UK high street institution, Woolworths. Side 2 cranks up the GAZ with Gary’s Garage (Is A Good Garage), bringing back memories of some questionable nights in Streatham in the early 2000s.We close out with Nigel Garage, where Gaz digs out his Emu SP1200 and ramps up the BPM for maximum impact. Just kidding — Gary can’t afford an SP1200.
Spin Desire Records is proud to present its first release of the year, a stunning EP by Namur, key member of the renowned Parisian collective :Beau Mot PlageEqually talented as a producer and DJ, Namur delivers a new EP featuring four captivating tracks that skilfully blend house, proggy hints and touches of breakbeat. With deep grooves, mesmerizing textures and finely crafted soundscapes which make for a perfectly balanced energy. This release is sure to connect with both dance floor regulars and those seeking refined electronic music. We could not be more excited to unveil this one as it’s been in the pipeline for quite a while now. A hot take on modern days tech house and timeless addition to any record collection.
Endell Street returns with a strictly limited 10" that features some rare gems that were originally produced back in the early naughties by Timmy S. Plenty of heads will know these have been expensive to cop on the second-hand market but now they have been restored and remastered by Yossi Amoyal in collaboration with Eukahouse's Nils Hess. Deep tech house doesn't get more authentic than this with the slick, driving drums and nocturnal pads of 'Wake Up' and the more percussive darkness of 'A Trip To London' both sounding superb.
Introducing an enormous EP from a rising star in our ever-growing scene: Wooka makes his dynamic debut on ABS, presenting a trio of original bombs ready and tested for the dance floor. Complementing the Frenchman is the acclaimed Velvet Velour, who brings a fresh take on Wooka's, 'I Waaanna See You Dance' with an electrifying remix. Hailing from France, Wooka's talent blossoms on this EP, setting the stage for what promises to be an exhilarating ascent in the world of music.Addition by Subtraction remains steadfast in our commitment to showcasing only the finest artists from every corner of the world. Our signature sound, ever evolving like the changing seasons, is underpinned by a constant: our unyielding dedication and passion for discovering artists.
For our second disc of ‘24, ONO returns to the club with ‘Tek Code’, a brilliant EP from exciting up-and-coming Boorloo artist, Beltrac.Across five tracks, Beltrac serves up his fresh and considered sound. Spanning dubbed-out minimal rollers that hark back to the sleazy, smoke-infused tech-house of the late '90s and early 2000s. Into exhilarating excursions into frenetic drums and deep bass that display Beltrac’s penchant for rhythm construction and sound design. Setting the tone and tempo for Side B of the disc, Echo Response receives the remix treatment from Eora dub king Command D, who mutates the wonky bass chug of the Side A closer into a hazy after hours dub techno strider.Combining careful attention to detail and excellent technical production with an undeniable sense of groove, Beltrac delivers a club ready EP that tickles our brain while keeping our body moving. Turn it up loud, this one’s for the late night crew.
For ALT014, Altered Circuits presents its first Various Artists release. In addition to the label's co-founder, three friends of the label appear on this heterogeneous, club-oriented 12''. Portal, with its breakbeat layered drum section and spartan bass hook, sounds like classic Innershades from the start. When the angular leads and slowly phased, ominous chords hit, we are reminded of the artist's fondness for the new beat genre and his ability to translate its tropes and conventions to the present. On Show You Love, Mr. Ho combines skippy two-step drums with an MS20 type of flat bass. After introducing a one-bar mid-bass arpeggiator, gently swelling pads, leisurely spread side riffs and reverb-drenched musings join, calibrating the vibe to lush and groovy. On the other side, Oshana treats groove as the focal point with her Hey Kiss Kiss contribution. Over its 6-minute course, the snappy 909 kick rarely relents while a bunch of often short, many a time looped sequences emerge and disappear, unfolding a hypnotic tapestry of textures. Rising talent Salomee closes the VA with Late Night Summer, a track capable of setting the floor in motion at any moment. It revolves around a portamento-heavy, neon-tinged lead that lingers long after the track ends and a sturdy, efficient one-note bass pulse.
