Eclectic Beats Music release number 6 comes in the form of a vinyl 7” single with two Latin broken beat cuts! The A side is a collaborative remix from Born74 and Fradinho, twisting Jorge Ivan Martin’s original track “Yo Tambien Baile La Conga” into a broken beat remix, enhancing the Latin flavours with a dance floor direction, topped up with Frank Santiuste’s trumpet solos. On the B side, Fradinho digs out one of his earlier unreleased Latin tracks and gives it a broken beat flavour, with a Funk fusion through the bass line and synth solos and brass hits.
Eclectic Beats Music release number 7 is Fradinho’s “Tropicafrica EP”, inspired by Ghana’s Highlife music. On the A-side, Fradinho delivers two original Broken Beat tracks: “Tropicafrica”, which also names the EP, is a journey into a slower syncopated Highlife guitar track, with a lovely progressive harmony and guitar picks. “Highlife” has a more upbeat atmosphere, still with the Highlife guitars on a happy vibe and a faster beat structure. On the B-side, there’s 2 distinct quality remixes:Sun 793 delivers a journey into a darker, futuristic, yet contemplating sonic bruk experience, with lush keys contrasting with the overall deep feeling of their “Tropicafrica” remix. Mr. Bird also remixes the track “Tropicafrica”, in a cross-genre fusion between house and broken beat, adding some vocal elements and brass, that results in this uplifting remix.
The fourth release of Eclectic Beats Music sees the Portuguese producer Fradinho on a sunny 6 track EP!With a blend of Fado Guitar, Africa, Brazil, Latin flavours, Jazz and Funk, Fradinho uses the word play on the EP name "Broken Beach", with Broken Beats, blending all these flavours into a warm beats fusion that brings back the sunshine!
Make way for a truly international meltdown! We are delighted to have this wonderful project released on Eclectic Beats Music! Born out of the favelas and samba schools of São Paulo, the Afro Bruk Band Project is a collaboration of singers, poets, musicians, friends and family. Their sound is inspired by Bossa-Nova, Afrobeat, Brasilian / Cuban Yoruba culture and the Broken Beat sound from the UK. The brainchild of the project is Swiss-based Ruben Estevez, producer and DJ of Bruk Boogie Kru sound system. His aim was to create a live project, to promote musicians, to diffuse their passion out of Brasil and to export Brasilian musical street culture. The project touches on many geographical locations. Most of the recordings were done in São Paulo with a few finishing touches in Johannesburg and final production by Ruben Estevez in Switzerland and co-production by Rui Fradinho in London.
The fifth release of Eclectic Beats Music is a collaborative project between Ruben Estevez (Bruk Boogie Kru + Afro Bruk Band) with Damian Botigue (Karmasound) and Rui Fradinho (Fradinho). Based on their Iberian Peninsula origins and upbringing, they get together to revise and rework some of Ruben's beats and tracks, into an Afro Brazilian flavoured EP with Broken Beat and Bruk rhythms. Ruben unveils some "lost" beats and tracks for Diamante, where Karmasound delivers some lush keys and Fradinho complements with synth bass and additional production (and a Bruk Remix from Fradinho too!). BBK's "Ile" gets a darker Peninsula Ibrukica Re-edit and Afro Bruk Band's "Vem Vai" a Fradinho Bruk Remix!
Fradinho's Here is the first ever original track from Fradinho made in 2001 and now seeing the light of day! A Bright Future is a syncopated beat structure with an overall jazzy soulful funky groove with Latin and Brazilian percussion, an engaging and funky bass line, jazzy keys and cosmic synth licks. Along with the original there are 5 remixes from the likes of the established Afronaut (Bugz In The Attic) that also features Mark de Clive-Lowe on keys, a wonderful Karmasound House remix, a Born74 Boogie Beat Mix, a Bruk Roller Mix from up and coming Mancunian producer Szajna and a darker, heavier and dirtier UK Garage approach by Porto based LSK.
