"Bassland Prophecy" was a collection of Southern California musicians, including Alex Xenophon (Deep Squared), Stuart Breidenstein (formerly of Skylab 2000), Alissa Kueker (vocals), and Maxx Vaxx (Euterpre, Butterfly Garden). Two standout tracks from 1996—“Nine / Deeper” and “Blue and Purple Starship of Trust”—perfectly represent their unique genre-bending concoctions. Against all odds, the recordings survived and have been given new life, remastered and reissued on Bristol-based *Sex Tapes From Mars*. To produce the wizardry, their setup included a Juno 106, Yamaha FB-01, a Roland S330 sampler, and a Sequential Circuits Pro-One mono synth with external MIDI, and some guitar effects pedals.

Elon Dust’s Sex Tapes From Mars imprint gives Victorious’s 90’s “Play Safe EP” new life, with three remastered house emeralds."All My Love” stands alone on the A-side, and Victorious has successfully bottled the magic of classic house music, delivering a track that strikes brilliance being both timeless and timely. It's a soulful, uplifting affair, sharing an emotive yet slinky journey through rich, sultry vocals and a vintage melody that breaths deep with warmth, swing and euphoria. On the flip, “Can You Feel It” is anchored by dubby, shuffling drums that provide a hypnotic groove, and Victors voice yet again delivers a performance that is as enigmatic as it is intoxicating, layering the track with a sensual, almost haunting allure.A wiggly bassline sets a playful yet driving tone on “Do It To Me”. Spacey synths glide then sweep in, building an atmosphere that is both expansive and intimate, perfectly primed for the after-hours. Each element is carefully placed to serve the groove, making "Do It To Me" a masterclass in restraint. It’s a track designed to move bodies without unnecessary flair, relying on its raw energy and drive to carry the listener. This is house music in its purest, finest and most functional form.
Leeds-based label Turnend Tapes showcase the wide and very assured skills of Malmo man Martin Abrahamsson aka Bauri across a choice selection of five tracks from the more thoughtful and atmospheric end of the techno scale. That's not to say there aren't grooves aplenty going on. Opening track 'Zoom0036' has some irresistibly shiny, downbeat electro moves, offset by a touch of Autechre-like ghostliness. 'Jody' comes on like Drexciya at their perkiest, with a soupcon of Air Liquide's cheeky phasing, while 'Sunrise (take 2)' has the majesty and simplicity of Aphex's first 'Ambient Works'. Flip it over for 'Easter Sunday', where streamlined polymetric machine funk and solar flare arpeggios do a merry dance, before 'Feeling Reprise' finishes things off with spiralling half-speed beats and yet more melodic grandeur rising out of the mix. Abrahamsson has a long, impressive pedigree with more alter egos than you've had hot dinners, but this is up there with his most original and confident efforts. It's a Flow-brainer.

We’re back with Lirica Archives 02, and this one is extra special. After working with David Inglesfield (PersistentRain), he encouraged us to move forward with this beautiful repress: “Voices” by Jewellery.A heartfelt tribute to Murdoch Matheson, the brilliant producer who sadly passed away last year. Together as Jewellery, they created something truly timeless.Thank you both for this masterpiece

Manchester-based Aiden Francis is at the forefront of the current prog house sound. His new EP cements that position with four more immersive club cuts doused in melody and subtle euphoria as well as hints of old school rave. 'Circuit Kween' is a punch one to start the harks back to classic Sasha & Digweed, 'Kompackt' hits its stride with an urgent low end and snappy finger clicks, 'Twizted' has a warped baseline and dark energy and 'Hex Klub' shuts down with more zoned out and trance infused feels with plenty of colour.
