In a culture of instant gratification, patience is a subversive virtue. This attitude is precisely what lies at the heart of Farron's debut 12" on the Mojuba sublabel, a.r.t.less. The "Patience EP" is a convergence of two distinctive musical forces. Here, the architect behind the Shaw Cuts imprint, whose rhythmic complexity is influenced by a personal music taste ranging from hip-hop to punk via breakbeat, meets the emotional Detroit and dub-infused techno coordinates of a.r.t.less. The result is a record that embodies this tension. Farron's characteristic, subtly broken percussion merges with warm, floating pads and stabs to form a unique, seductive whole. It's not techno for pure escalation at peak time, but rather, music for the hours before and after with a sound that challenges and rewards the body and mind equally. The EP's four tracks tell a coherent story of maturation and catharsis that goes far beyond functional club tools. Following early releases as LaChriz on labels such as Ilian Tape and the consistent refinement of his vision through Shaw Cuts, this release is both a natural progression for Farron as an artist and an exciting new addition to the sound palette of a.r.t.less. Some things are worth waiting for!

One for the heads as they say ... this deep Detroit Techno inspired 12" by UK Techno veteran Paul Mac was supposed to be released on Ben Sims' infamous Theory sub label Navite in 2003, but apart from 5 test pressings with the catalogue number NTV 04 it never made it to a proper release. When asking Paul about this 12" we were very happy that he agreed to release it on Mojuba sub label a.r.t.less. Some of his most soulful and deeper organic Techno EPs finally available and remastered by Redshape to current standards.For illustration duties we are super grateful to have the one and only Kilian Eng on board for the next releases, showcasing some of his sketch work in a new context, some of you might remember his stunning artwork from the Sam McQueen album "Dreams In Sepia" for a.r.t.less. Interactive DJ'ng EP

Rick 8 is Riccardo Falsini who, along with his brother Franco, ran the legendary label Italian label Interactive Test. This was a label that was instrumental in shaping the template of Trance, Techno and Progressive House as we understand it today whilst pushing it into new and unexplored realms. As a result, the Interactive Test banner serves as a mark of quality and, as can be heard in this early release from the label, was a vehicle for releasing music that serves as powerful club tools that also defy any standard and limiting sub-generic convention. These tracks will lead to transcendental dancefloor rites for spiritual growth and abundance with sonics beaming in through cyberspace. Sound Metaphors alumni Trent joins for remix of ‘C’Mon’ - what results is a progressive, powder keg and is a welcome addition to the package!
