To celebrate our 50th release, we dug deep into Juan's back catalogue and rediscovered four gems that had never been repressed since 1993. After a proper restoration, a new mastering and a precise cut, we are happy to re-introduce those incredible track on vinyl and digital. The Future Sound EP is a great example of Juan Atkins' versatility and his ability to blend different aspects of techno--from smooth, ambient textures to more rhythmic, driving beats. It also perfectly represents his contribution to the Detroit techno scene at the time.
Rick Wade is one of Detroit and house music's most consistent performers. He is a master of crafting tools that never miss on the floor but also have the sort of character that means they endure across the ages and remain impervious to passing trends. Art Is The Place has his latest, and it opens with the angelic vocals of 'Level Up' over a whimsical groove, then 'Big Ha Blues' gets more deep and zoned out with pillowy pads and wet claps. 'Intrusive Emotions' has a more grinding low end but stays slow and is softened by jazz keys, then 'Bitter Sweet brings some dust and grit. Another faultless outing from Wade.
Metroplex is proud to welcome Italian producers CEM3340 & 2030 to the label with the release of their new project "A Future Tribe"and their Machines Awake EP. This five-track release delivers a bold and immersive journey into electro, blending razor-sharp production with deep atmospheres and driving rhythms. Produced at their headquarters in Bari, the EP reflects both artists' precise craftsmanship and forward-looking approach to electronic music. With Machines Awake EP, CEM3340 & 2030 pay homage to the classic foundations of the genre while pushing it into new and exciting territory. Their sound aligns seamlessly with Metroplex's legacy of innovation, and we're thrilled to present this release as part of our ongoing commitment to groundbreaking electronic music. Machines Awake EP is available now across all major platforms.
After years of friendship and sound fragmentation, Felipe Valenzuela and Federico Molinari have succeeded in capturing and distilling their unique musical perspective into a single frame.Throughout this process, these two minds from across the Andes have developed numerous productions with a broad, multidirectional genre range. This release features four tracks, each with its own distinct identity. The A1 track, FORCED TO THE SCALES, which lends its name to the EP, blends elements of Spanish classical music with a futuristic edge, seamlessly adapting to various moments within a set.The second track on side A, RAPS TIGHT, is an experiment born from the same session, where a subtle sensitivity is expressed through a a slow beat, enveloped in a harmonious world. On side B, 503 emerges from a different creative process, combining two divergent paths that naturally intersect, resulting in a track full of energy and dynamism. The EP closes with DEAD MAN, a one-shot recording that, through its raw spontaneity, encapsulates the conclusion of a fragmented journey within a frame full of versatility.
Get Mesmerized references the more stripped and steppin’ influences of the artist otherwise known as Snad. Chopped and freaked vocal samples soar overhead, synth-savant leads get up-front-and-personal, chunky rhythmatics do the dirty work and hi-rez (and high-resonance!) basslines worm out your bassbins leaving a trail of neon goo in their wake.Brought to you with love from a singular house hustler, lock in for a 4D audiovisual experience unfolding across the stereo field continuum.
Any discerning house head must be a fan of Kai Alce's NDATL, and similarly, it'd be hard to think of a reason why the same person wouldn't also love the world of dub house don Mr G. The magical pair come together again here with the 'Black Jammies' EP, which delivers pure underground fire. 'Saved' locks you in with raw, soulful swing that has long been a G trademark, while 'So Wrong Yet So.....' pushes deeper with heavy bass and playful tension. Stripped back yet powerful, both cuts embody his uncompromising craft - soulful, gritty and timeless. Another essential NDATL drop.
