RepressMunir Nadir has been breaking through in the past few years with essential releases on 4Plae, Nuts On Board and Outcast Planet. Now he's minting a new label called Odd One Tape out of Italy, and bringing his playful, synth-rich sound with him. There's a nod to Italo and 80s electro in the sampling and throbbing, analogue groove of 'Rhythmistic', while 'Bass Jam' tips more towards the early 00s electro house boom a la Tiefschwarz and Tomas Andersson. 'Urban Whispers' has a more jackin' flavour with some low down sub freakiness thrown in for good measure, and 'Binary Technologies' brings the heat on the B2 with a powerful arpeggio and hard-slapping drums. Following up 2 VA releases, Threads' journey continues with a solo EP signed by mpeg. The Dresden-based artist delivers a superb EP, an immersive trip into minimal / trance house sound distinguished by his very own array of soft acid synths and percussive lines. We loved the excursion of the EP, every track is sensual yet effective, and generates an extraordinary impact on the dance floor at every different moment of the night... or morning!
After releasing on some of your favorite labels, Paradise City Breakers start their own imprint with a very personal, no-compromise attitude. The label exists to release timeless work, uninfluenced by the market or by what the audience thinks it wants. The A-side is strongly influenced by early European club music, with a harder and more ravey attitude that culminates in Destroy the Power, while Dissociazione Jonica takes you on a stripped-down progression. On the B-side, the sound becomes more modern, while still drawing from vintage influences. If What U Want is tight and enriched by clear melodies, Your Soul opens up a more oneiric dimension. The first statement of many. Listen closely — the rest will follow
Following his past work on Timeless, LNO returns with a fresh new release.“Both tracks were recorded between 2014 and 2022 in Barcelona”
The year is 1995, Italy has just witnessed the biggest corruption scandal in its history, a new sound is thriving in the underground. Far from the idyllic atmospheres of Dream House, “Location EP” by mysterious producer Universe City (moniker of Michael Preti) erupts like an earthquake on the dance floors of a shattered country: telluric textures, metallic echoes, a state hypnosis induced by volcanic tension.A new genre was born, Progressive Trance, and this was just the beginning..
Originally released in 1991 as the debut record on Ron Allen and Hayden Andre’s cult label Strobe Records, Metamorphasis contains six tracks ranging from deep, pad-soaked house to tougher, bleep-tinged warehouse grooves. Powered by warm sub-bass, dreamy atmospheres and razor-sharp drum programming, this reissue brings back a timeless statement from two Canadian pioneers.
