Never-before-heard psychedelic acid techno and ambient compositions from beloved Japanese producer Susumu Yokota. Recovered from a collection of DAT tapes.
1998 Japanese deep techno EP originally released in limited quantities on the short lived Tokyo based Metro Juice Records. To date it remains the sole release of Sohei Nagasawa aka Cocoo, becoming a favourite for fans of stripped back percussive and earthy techno. Includes two new remixes.
Split EP of psychedelic techno carefully selected from the archives of UK label Hollistic Recordings. Remastered and restored for the modern acid purveyor. Features the epic 13 minute Elevate on the A side, produced by Iestyn Polson and Steve Dungey of Projective Vision and the chugging Levitate on the B side, produced by Iestyn Polson and Jason Meherin.
In the late ’90s, Trance Induction, the project of Tjeerd Verbeek, established a truly unique sound by fusing acid house, ambient, techno, world music, breakbeats, and industrial new wave. Now, three carefully selected tracks from his extensive catalog are being remastered and released on vinyl. The A1 track, “Join The Circus Of Dr. Lao 2,” has been a long-time favorite of label owner Tomoki Tamura, frequently featured in his DJ sets over the years. A2 delivers a deep, bouncy groove laced with trippy acid sounds that take the floor on a hypnotic journey. On the B-side, you’ll find the original version of “Join The Circus Of Dr. Lao” — appearing on vinyl for the first time ever.Step into a sound world only Verbeek can create. This is a release not to be missed.
One Eye Witness turns its gaze to South America with WITNESS06. The Amsterdam imprint continues its growing number of VA EPs with 4 brooding creations from Uruguayan artists Molen & Nahuel, Michelle, Z@p & Latress. While punchy and hard-hitting, each track carries a subtly menacing energy, prodding darker corners of the dancefloor with undeniably satisfying echoes of 80s EBM. Molen & Nahuel’s enticing bassline and brassy synths lead the charge on opener “Modus Operandi”. Rising talent Michelle then pushes at a sense of paranoia with “Last Cello”, its elastic bassline providing the footing for clever percussive trickery. Things take a heady turn on “Ignorance” as Z@p weaves a po-faced speech into psychedelic synth work. Latress opts for a more introspective take on final cut “Perseverance” — pensive harmonies and glassy tones round out this collection of seductive, hypnotic tracks.
