Outcast Planet Compilation vol.1 is the first in a series of volumes by Outcast Torino and features two records and 9 tracks, one for each resident DJ: Alex Dima, Bakked, Cristian Sarde, Denaila, Emanuele Montalto, Lorenzo Aribone, Munir Nadir, Paolo Macri and Paul Lution. The collective from Turin comes together for the first time in a V.A whose sounds range from house to techno, with deep and electro influences.Coming soon from Outcast Planet straight to your turntables, get your copy now.
Matt Hodgson's 7th Voyage is one of those mid-90s labels that enjoyed cult status almost from the off. Its releases helped to define the sound of the London underground of the time and have since become pricey and sought after. The Return Voyage is a new seven-track collection of back-catalogue gems that pays tribute to the label's fine work. From the deep and atmospheric 'Big Hips Blue Gloves (No Dubs)' by Tactics Of Bass to the squelchy lo-fi hip-hop funk of The Secret Garden's 'Rough Diamond,' this is a vital look back at a hugely influential label.
People Of Earth strides into the New Year with a new project called The Elements Series. Part one welcomes some serious names, not least Detroit's ambient and techno master John Beltran who kicks off with 'Nuyorico' a joyous, chord-laced house groove laden with organic percussion. Javonntte's 'Tropical Feelings' is another of his textbook deep house cuts with whispered vocals bringing a spiritual vibe. Atlanta's main man Kai Alce does his do with the jazzy synth energy of shuffling house cut 'Benefit' (NDATL instrumental mix) then Byron The Aquarius pairs things back to dusty drums and humid chords on 'Sun Gods'. This one is only for the real heads.
As Soul Capsule, Baby Ford and Thomas Melchior made some of minimal techno's most accomplished records. It has been many years since they stopped turning out new material - sadly - but their archive tracks are still in hot demand and undeniably relevant. While 1999's 'Lady Science' might be their most famous offering, this EP from 2001 on Aspect Music is no less vital and it will currently cost you well over L250 on second-hand markets. It is Ford's Trelik label who reissues it here in all its glory: the entirety of the a-side is taken up with 'Law Of Grace,' a delightfully deep and breezy minimal dub house roller with pensive chords draped over the frictionless drums. 'Meltdown' has a more experimental feel with brushed metal drums beneath a wordless vocal musing. The cult 'Lady Science' (Tek Mix) is also inched with the whole package being remastered by D&M to make this one utterly essential. (Juno review)
Growing Pleasures is a brand new label and natebytheway is the first artist on it. The tracks are fun, the mood is jolly. Some wonky grooves and some deep hot basslines. These are the ingredients for this first mushroom soup.Limited to 200 copies!
RAWAX proudly welcomes DJ Rush to the Family! We are thrilled to annouce 3 releases by the Chicago Legend. Starting with the former Dance Mania from 1991 called "Childs Play".Highly recommended!
