Belgian DJ / producer down under Gratts is back with his most intriguing collection of songs to date. Different shades of house music are on offer - always raw, real, and full of personality.
‘Off My Feet’ is dedicated to Restless Soul and features Durban force Venessa Jackson on vocals. Adelaide’s Ed Temple destructs, rerubs and transforms it into a sleazy slice of hardware boogie. ‘Smiling’ chronicles hazy London days and nights some 20 odd years ago, brought to life by the illustrious JPHiLo. A track both for club and airwaves use. ‘Better Days’ is a warm and uplifting chunk of balearica, in which Rose ensures us better days are soon upon us (surely), while Belgium’s Steven De bruyn shines on harmonica. The ‘Moody Beatdown Dub’ pulls things firmly into Detroit territory. The EP concludes with title track ‘New Horizons’, an emotional piece that fuses a juicy acid line with the cascading magic of Adelaide pianist (and techno veteran) Antony Coppens.

New label Foul Play comes out of the box swinging with a two track EP from Solar Suite. 2 Techy peak time cuts in classic Suite fashion, written after a near-religious experience at Amsterdam club DOKA in 2021. Cut to 45 on heavy-weight wax for the full Fidelity experience! Don’t sleep.
Gratts is back once again, hot on the heels of various Balearic outings like 'Sun Circles', 'Pretty Lights' and 'Jour De Fete' but this time he is in house mode. This release comes under his new Trackhead T moniker and finds him keeping things raw and stripped back. For the sessions, the Belgian artist limited himself to using only around 12 channels maximum per tune. This Klub Romance EP is the result and a track that harks back to his Berlin stomping ground, with deep but driving house cuts that have subtle hints of everyone from Felix Da Housecat to Boo Williams. The low slung sleaze and muted rave stabs of 'My Miseducation' is our standout.
Adam Collins new solo ep and his latest innovation for the tech house underground label: Rhythm Trax Recordings Vienna. Run by Chris Rhythm and exclusive at 3345 records Vienna (3345ROOM).
Born 2 Be Free rolls out a third call to the dance floor here and it comes from Azaad. He kicks off with the low-slung 'Automatic' which has a cool-as-you-like swinging groove, dusty hi-hats and aloof vocals piercing the mix. Wispy pads and warped bass bring touches of old school garage but the palette is distinctly contemporary. 'Swagged Out' ups the ante with some sleazy garage shufflers and a steamy vocal sound that draws in between the edgy synth stabs. Last of all is maybe the best. 'Doin' It Again' is a heady and clean sound with swirling cosmic pads and a slick, minimal rhythm that makes you throw down your best moves.
