We rewind to 2004, revisiting a quietly influential moment in the Evasive Records catalogue. Following earlier collaborations with Asad Rizvi and Haris, UK producer Chris Pascoe steps out solo with Mong Juice / Trippy Breakfast— a release that captured his deep, late-night take on tech house at the time.
Following on from Studiotek’s relaunch last year, the seminal UK tech-house labelcombines a repressed collaborative project between Dave Brennan and label owner,Darren Roach with two new and unreleased tracks on the other side.Rolling, prime-time energy on the A side with more dubby, low-slung flavours in theform of ‘Let’s Search’ and ‘Kambo’. The original pressing of ‘Ride The Riddem’(STUK002) has fetched a fair sum on Discogs and is now available for the first timeagain since 2004.Produced by Darren Roach & Dave BrennanMastered by Tom Gillieron & Stuart CrosslandPressed at Vinyl PresentsDistributed by Palace Vinyl
We travel back to the early days of proper Tech House during 2003. Picture the scene, in Online Studios, Croydon, London UK and Evasive label boss teams up with his friend Simon Copleston (Iteration X).Following on from the success of Timecheck by Iteration X, Rob & Simon create this new collaboration to fuse their distinctive production sounds together as one unit under a new moniker 'Rob & Si'. They delivered their first record together with Roll One Up / Zebras which became the 9thEP in the Evasive Records story.
With its 31st release, EYA Records welcomes German producer Dominik Marz for a full solo outing, and the result is a shimmering, synth-laced journey that feels both retro and radically forward-thinking. Beginning to Fly EP is a four-track package that seamlessly balances warmth and drive—making it as suitable for peak-time club energy as it is for the early morning hours when the dancefloor turns inward. From the outset, Marz delivers on the EP’s title. The music feels elevated—each track hovering in that sweet spot between euphoria and control, never overreaching, always gliding. The synth work is lush and textural, channeling a sort of cosmic nostalgia that recalls early ‘90s techno and electro, yet with a sleek, modern production edge.
Spincycle are back on Coin-Op Records. To celebrate 25 years since writing it, they’re repressing their much sought after first release on Geek Records: Coin-Op/Cold Sweet Beer. Originally released as Geek#001, now repressed for the first time on Coin-Op#003. It’s Coin-Op on Coin-Op!!
Spincycle are back on Coin-Op with a new 4 track EP. First up is “Minty Fresh” with tight old school chord stabs punching through a swirly vocal sample. Dinky Fellas is reminiscent of the West Coast sound of the 00’s, a proper groover with a glorious string breakdown. On the flip “Could This Be” opens with some fresh synth chords sounding like a beach-side drive in an open top car, before bringing in looped vocals, chunky bass and a kicking drum groove. Closing the EP is "Cinders", a slow-burning deep house track, featuring Phil Koerver on bass adding some subtle funk to a soulful journey.
